I am Deb Cross and my friends call me Roxy. My background is years in traditional media; freelance writer, editor and writer for newspaper, television host, event marketer, radio co-host, news director, sales exec, business development director, event emcee, business print publication account executive. I also started a direct and bulk mail business with my ex-husband, the printer. Working in smaller markets allowed me to wear many hats. Working in bigger markets taught me to be innovative.
Clients don't roll over their ad budgets anymore. They are looking for savvy solutions to garnering market share. I morphed and learned with them, even went back to college in BIS.
The marketplace is changing. The newer business model is not competition but collaboration. I realize I just said 'garnering market share,' and 'not competition' in the same missive. Companies will grow, in part, as they embrace new methods of attracting customers and clients and as they look for intelligent ways to work together.
Although originally from Chicago, I live where others vacation, in the midst of the mountains of UT. I gave birth to snowboarders and am only allowed to leave for short bursts. I am not Mormon but do have 9 children, the last 5, I raised alone and am down to the last 2, as Josh starts at Westminster College this fall. Since I am a master gardener, I have hundreds of fabulous flowers on my deck, but my desk is a bit messy.
This year I decided to work only with people and companies I love, doing work I love. You don't have to be a girl to do that. I collaborate with quite a team of independent business owners working on a combined brand. The projects we have worked on so far, from Visterra, a billion dollar revenue credit union in southern California, to Synthegis, a Virginia based demographic research company, to law firms, micro-brewries, to start-ups in various industries, goals are the same. We provide excellent websites, using video, with effective SEM, social media and marketing and maintenance components. And we are fast and complete. The fast part is the big gap in the industry. We fixed that.
As I looked through this site, reading about the members, I am amazed that we are all over the globe. Really, not to be taken for granted. Technology allows us to work at home, on a beach, on a trip or in someone else's office. It allows us to meet and work together without ever meeting face to face. We share what works for us and are each farther along for the education. Thank you for welcoming me to Cross Media!
